The temps are maintaining in the teens here.BELOW ZERO that is! Suppose to warm up by Sunday...Maybe to 15 above! Bring long underwear or if you have a turtle neck, throw that in your bag as well! The shop is nice and warm....it's going outside to color the snow yellow that gets a little chilly....(We do have in-door plumbing but I don't think it will catch on...not with all the outhouses and Sears catalogs so handy.) The corn stove in Ore's will be burning bright!

FIRE!!!
Well, almost thanks to some quick action by yours truly, a ballast decided to BURN!! I quick ly grabbed a ladder and tore bulbs, covers, wires and a smoking ballast to the floor! Smoke billowed through the shop. My son Caleb and myself were the only ones here, as Brian O'Prey and Matt Rolli went to the airport to pick up the English, Scottish and Welsh visitors. We are having a bonfire and hopefully it will not be the shop! My electrician, Rob, came and fixed the wiring for now. WHEW! Stay Tuned!

Hola Mike, Dang that package got there fast! I'll assemble the Mezeppa one when I get there, yours is made for the curved frame. I can also make another one if you want to donate it to the museum? In fact I'll make two, so I can have one and have everyone sign it, then I can bring it back.
Your place is looking sharp!!

HOY!!! (As Mike & I say when greeting each other)
Mike's bro here, Tim. Here's another perspective on the status of things, pre-Muster. We have a good heavy snow coming down today. Yesterday was a very productive day at the shop. The overseas gents (Bri, Ash, Stu & Scott) dove into things along with a few local volunteers & we moved a number of loads of "stuff" out of the shop to make room for everyone. A number of meet signs got made (Brian). One of the most fun work details we accomplished was putting the finishing touches on Ore's. That place wreaks of character & style!!! Once in there, you don't wanna leave. Ya have to be there. One corner has the corn stove generating warmth & a unique homey corn stove aroma. The other corner has a vintage, fully operational old floor console stereo along with 150 or so albums. They're sorted into 2 piles, country & classic 70's rock. Play whatever you want! The ceiling has numerous interesting items wired to it, including the restored antique high chair that Mike & I flung food from a few days past. That's enuf info for now. Don't wanna tell everything about the place. Gotta leave some for the imagination & discovery. Needless to say, the spirit of the Muster is already live & well at Mike's shop & waiting to welcome everyone. See y'all there next week.

If anyone's wonderin what those bags are that Stuart & I are stacking outside of Ore's, it's corn for the corn stove. Ashley was inside the door, tossing them to me, me to Stuart. Had to make room in Ore's.

Mike, Let Sara know that I will let her practice on my hair when I get there. You guys seem really cold in some of those photos. It was 28 here yesterday. Is there that much difference in 28 and -15. Isn't yours a "dry cold"? I can't wait to get there.
posted
ask the fella's from overseas about the cold....when they got here, it was -15 below..yesterday when we went skiing, it was 15 ABOVE...even though it was still..only 15 degrees below zero, it felt like 50 above! 30 degree swing is a drastic cahnge and it feels really good! It probably will not feel too good when you come from a 70 degree climate but you will adjust!
Schools closed today as we have been in a steady snowfall since 5 PM last night! Thank you Pat and Ruth Welter for the snow!!! Right on time!!!! We could use more so Ryan and Donald can get some snowmobiling in!
Another hectic work day, things to tidy up, here and there......Please email us ASAP if you are arriving Via airport and IF you need a shuttle ride....We are gathering together the names and times of folks coming in and it looks as though it will work out well!
Minneapolis/St.Paul International Airport Information number is 612-726-5555 in case you need any information. We look forward to all of you coming and having a great time! We already are!
