I did the layout (tired of Helvetica and wanted to tweek it a little)and e-mailed it to Doug Allen who did an excellent job of cutting the vinyl, but obviously he farmed out the install!
I fear something got lost in the translation

I love how he later expanded into pinstriping too, tucking that byline so cleverly onto the lower panel of the door. His work really has a unique freeform "swing" quality. Very refreshing.

It was me and Adrienne Morgan. We ran out of money after our New Years bash and had to do some snap jobs. We had a day on that one between us because of all the arguing over who would choose the colors.

I thought the customer's would go for that "far out, Dark Side of the Moon while smoking a bong" feel.
Here's the "how to"...
Draw out the lettering with a torn template that you can get at the local hardware store dumpster.
Dip a large magic marker in tempera paints and apply generously to truck door over pencils.
After about fifteen minutes of trying to get the lines straight and the paint to flow evenly, give up trying and resort to simply finishing the job.
Premier the vehicle at the local gas staion you used to work for when you were 16 and entice your buddies to hire you.
Then spend approximately 15 - 25 years improving on your artistic and technical knowledge of the sign painting industry and look fondly back on this masterpiece as "the one that started it all".
You never know who's gonna be the "next one" in this biz....
