I got this program with my Graphtec 24 in. cutter and I believe it is an off shoot of Flexisign ( I could be wrong). Any way I had a few questions and thought I could ask somebody out there..They have pretty good tech support but it is only open 8-5 and I have a day job..One of the questions was how do I use a font that I have downloaded to my computer ( it is one from Letterheads fonts)? And remember if this sounds pretty dumb it's because this cumputer stuff is all very new to me!!!!!!!! Is there a way to print off samples of the different fonts so I don't have to scroll up and down each one and compare them (this takes an awful lot of time)..Thanks a bunch!!!!!!!!

Never heard of VL EXI ?? If you've downloaded fonts, they need to be in the C:\Windows\fonts directory usually. From there, they're automatically accessable. To view all fonts, try the free fontviewers & installers from Letterheadfonts, who I think is a sponsor or supporter of this website. Font Navigator which comes with Corel is another good cataloguer of fonts with which you can test different words or print out a catalogue of samples of all. If VL EXI is at all like Flexi, you can look at variations under Modify in the Text/fonts menu. Best wishes

Vinyl Express is a private label version of FlexiSign.
Installing fonts is a Windows function and has nothing to do with Vinyl Express. Just install them through Control Panel > Fonts > File/Install.
Once installed they are available to Vinyl Express. If you have a copy that is older than version 6, it takes an extra step to get them to show up as a selectable font of using the "Modify" command under fonts.

I have been using the Vinyl Express Platinum 2000 version since March of 2000. Vinyl Express is a private label version of SignLab/CADLink, not Flexi.

Donna The Vinyl Express is a private label of Flexi. I've also been using it since 2000, although I have the updated VE LXI from Signwarehouse. Ganzalo, Have you solved your problems with VE LXI?

Tom, first off, check the spelling, it's Dana, not Donna. Male of the species. Second, VE is a private label version of SignLab/CADLink, thus the .cdl file extensions. I talked to Sign Warehouse about an upgrade to the mainstream version instead of the private label version and the mainstream version for me to upgrade to was SignLab. When I get an error message while running VE, it says that the error was caused by SignLab 5. I have also used CADLink's tech support for issues after one of their service techs answered a reply for help I posted on this board.

Me solve my problems? never.. But I do have some questions about LXI , How could I pinstripe half of a design then scan it, mirror it, then weld it to make it symetrical and complete the design? Or even just make an object and do the (one side, then mirror, then weld? I realize this must be pretty easy ...but I haven't figured it out...Thanks PS You can call me Peewee that's what everyone else calls me!

Sorry for the spelling error Dana. No harm intended. You have a different version than I have. My files have the Flexi extensions & (according to the Signwarehouse techs) is Flexi with the VE private label. Peewee Scan your image: click twain aquire under file. (you may have to select a twain source >file >twain >twain select). Then convert the image to vector by using the autotrace feature (Z). (Practice with the (Z) feature to get good clean traced images. You may have to clean up the trace by using the editing tools). after image is scanned & traced select it >right click >compound. Then copy & paste so you have two, (a shortcut for this is select item >hold ctrl key >hold left click & drag > let go left click >let go ctrl). Then select second image >mirror image which is under the arrange tab & rotate, you'll see design central window open, (if it isn't already open). The design central(dc) window gives you quick access to the functions your working with. The mirror image is under the rotate tab in the dc. It's the tab that shows two F's facing each other >click it & your selected image will mirror. Place it by your original in favored position >select both images & click weld by right clicking & select "weld". There you have it! You can right click on any selected item & it will give you a drop down menu of key features. Hope this helps.

I have been running VE from GBC/Signwarehouse since 1999 and it is Flexi- with a VE label.
Even in my "Program's" it comes up as Flexi, not VE. I have never heard of the "SignLab" version, but that doesn't surprize me at all.
I had to upgrade in 2002 when I went to Windows XP, and basiclly learn the program almost completely over again, they had changed and or moved almost everything, no that I am used to it I like it better, but I didn't at first.
