i was interested to know what others use to calculate mark up on materials used?

Ask a dozen signmakers and you'll probably get a dozen different answers. We try and add 100% to raw materials, simply because in this business there's a fair amount of wastage to be accounted for. A little less if we're just buying in to sell a product.
