A good friend of mine has a Picture Framing Shop/Art Gallery. She is on the highway, and is not getting the exposure that she would like with the signs she has now. Right now, she has a small (~4'x4') rolling A-frame sign that is constructed of plywood and cor-plast. It is rolled out to the highway-side every morning and back in in the evening (about 30' round-trip).
My plan was to make the sign bigger and bolder while still making it light enough to be moved around in the manner I have described. I will have to build a new rolling frame to accomplish this. I believe Alumalite would be the best way to do this. Right now, I'm thinking that the panels on each side should measure about 5'x6'. This should be significantly bigger, but not so big that it's difficult to move (I think).
This is my first shot at the design, and shows you more or less what I'm trying to accomplish:
I am considering having the 'pallete' cut out seperate from the 'frame' and have it placed on top to add dimension. Also, if funds allow, I will probably have the lettering routed out to add some dimension as well.
After doing this layout, my wife suggested that it is not feminine enough, or perhaps too masculine. I'm thinking she may be right. But regardless, I want to keep the colors and lines bold so that it will make people want to slow down and stop-in.
In any event, I would appreciate any thoughts on this design whether they be criticism or otherwise. Your thoughts on fabrication are appreciated as well. This is just my first draft and first idea for this sign, so if anybody has another idea that they want to put out there, I'd be glad to hear/see that as well.

Shane, you might want to see what kind of regulations surround the issue of rolling this sign out to the highway. Here, Highway Works would immediately remove it. If it was the City they would remove it and fine the owner. 4X4 might be "ignored" but the new one won't... good luck

I should have clarified, the sign will be off the highway, on her property, but where it will be seen by the passers-by.
