can anybody give me some price guidelines on painted lettering on awning fabric (sunbrella)? i've been using the printed Sign Pricing Guide, with the "wall lettering" category, but the minimum is 50 sq. feet at $350.

i guess i need ballpark for awning material in the shop and for lettering onto an awning in the field.

any help would be appreciated.

Hey Scooter,

From what I can tell, pricing these things varies widely. Do you have Estimate software? That should do the trick.

If not, you can download my software (free) from http://shanes.net/wares/signagepricegenerator.zip and plug in some numbers. Since I started using time/materials for pricing, life has gotten alot easier!

Anyway, hope that helps you in some way.

thanks Shane,

unfortunately, i can't use Estimate, because it isn't available for the Mac system. And using time and materials isn't a good way for me to generate an estimate (before the work is done) because i haven't done enough of them to figure out how long i should expect to take...

that's why i'm hoping to get some guidelines from people who have some experience pricing awning work.

Estimate it like you would for a banner, then double it! Figure a minimum of 2 coats, maybe 3.

Don't forget...ladder time costs more than shop time!

[Eek!]
