Howdy!
Does anyone out there have an idea what the percentage is for the difference in standard signage and reflective? (Dare I say vinyl?) A customer asked if reflective was 10% more than a regular sign or what? I smiled and told her I get back to her on the percentage thing. Certainly more than 10%, lots more!.... but ahhhhh I've always wanted to learn to figure the percentage increase thing. Say a fifty yard roll of regular is $185. and a 50 yd roll of reflective is $450.
All right, so I paid more attention in English than I did in math!
Thanks! [Confused]

I can't ever figure out how the price books get the price... other than adding in for perceived and or advertising value.

With reflective, figure in for new plotter blades because it seems to eat them.

If regular vinyl is $185.00 and reflective is $450.00 ~ $450.00 is 2.43 times the amount of $185.00. You could tell the customer that his vinyl cost is 2.43 times the amount of non-reflective.

The price books look like they charge more but they do include weeding and masking (install not included).

I had a guy come in here looking for signs to mount on the side of a "V" shaped livestock trailer. He thought it would look cool with reflective lettering (lots of info) because he saw someone else's trailer done that way. He asked if I could do it for around $100.00. I told him that I would not even measure the area... unless he figured on spending at least $400.00.

He went away ticked off. Then he came back 2 weeks later and got the signs made.

i figure that reflective vinyl adds 130 percent more for the MATERIAL and 200 percent (twice the cost) more for the LABOR. it takes extra time to cut, to weed, to apply, AND extra time to make sure the substrate is perfect because the reflective will show up the tiniest flaw. i guess you could just tell your customer that it will be a little more than double the price.

Hey thanks guys! I guess it's not a percentage thing, just a simle two to two and a half times as much. I can do that!
Have a great week end!
