Here's a sign I'm working on for my brother. I never know what to get him for Christmas, so I made this for him.

This is the finished painting, but I am going to sand it down and use some crackle to age it and put a black wooden frame around it. I used some spray paint to brown the edges a bit and then used a paint mask for the rest. (I know...cheating, but I can't paint that well...yet)

Nice gift Justin.

Post again when the aging and the frame are on it so we can see the before and after, what the crackle does to it.

Cool piece Justin. I'll bet it will look even better when the aging and crackle glaze is on.

We all should be blessed with a brother like you, I too want to see the finished "aged version".

Howdy Justin
I think it is wonderful, and the crackle might do the trick, along with the frame. For me, i remember very well, one time i will never forget
i will never be sorry, i painted with oils, a picture of a stage coach with a six up, which i meant to say six horses. He is now deceased, but i will never forget the look in his wifes and his eyes as i handed it to him. I will remember that for the rest of my life. Keep up the good work.
Sincerely Mike Norcross

Here's the finished sign. I'm not thrilled with how the crackle worked...I'll have to keep working on it with more projects!

Anyway, my brother seemed to like it, so it was a success. Thanks for looking.

The crackle looks good to me, nice gift.

I think it looks good- the only comment would be in regards to applying the crackle finish- I have applied the crackle, then rub stain over the top to bring out the crackle pattern effect...
