The green paint used to inhibit rust and corrosion on these wellheads is called demetcoat. Great capture of the piece and coloring. I've climbed all over hundreds of these things, I look forward to seeing the entire work.

Thanks for the information Santo. Although my father was an oil driller, I never was around the rigs. This project has been a challenge for that reason. I'm also trying to have a bit of a cartoon style but I keep pulling back to realistic. It's quite a conflict. But I'm having fun with it and loving the opportunity to just paint for hours on end, even if it is a crude canvas.

The "cartoonish" quality gives it a distinct style which makes it stand out even more. Realism is great, but youve added your own style to this, and it makes for a great looking painting.
