As promised, here are some pics from my 1st lettered wall. I have to send a big thanks out to Tony Vickio for the posts about the Shurline pad painters...they were great, once I actually started using them, that is.

Here's a before pic...

This is me thinking..."I should really give those pad painter's a try" I'd wait until the next day, only to feel like an idiot because they worked soooo much faster.

And the finished product.

I learned a lot on this job and had a ton of fun doing it, too. Hopefully I can get some more work like this in the future!

nice job, Justin, particularly since it was your first on brick. how did you layout the design? and can you shoot a picture of the painters pad you are talking about as I am not sure I have seen them.

Again Welcome out of the Lurkers Box. [Smile]

Thanks Miles! I used a pounce pattern to do the layout. It's actually kind of disheartening when someone see's you pouncing the pattern and then they say, "oh, I thought you were doing that freehand. I once knew a guy who could do it all freehand..." But, hey, they still paid me, so all's well.

Here's a pic of the pad painter. It really covered a lot better than I thought it would and filled in the rough surface great.

Wow, talk about blatant product placement! How much did Coke pay you to display the can? [Rolling On The Floor] [Rolling On The Floor]

Nice job on the wall. Looks great. Those painting pads are pretty cool. Looks like a SurLine pad. I love their 3" rollers for small work. We de-fuzz them on scrap vinyl and they roll paint almost as good as a high priced mohair roller.

How come everyone knows a sign painter that painted freehand, and couldn't paint till he had a drink, or his hand shook like crazy until the brush hit the sign, blah blah blah blah blah. [Roll Eyes]

Everyone knows that painter but me. I keep trying to find him to sub out my paint work to him but he's never around.
