It's much more of a challenge to work at home on one's own to figure this stuff out, the look and the order... but this glass stuff is highly addictive!
Sandblasted lines, lemon and 23 k gilds, with oneshot

Hey Cat, you've got the guys calling you beautiful. [Wink]
Look at you go! Nice Job. I really like Celtic stuff. It looks like you used Damar varnish on the outer circle, did you use it behind the rope too? I like the way you shaded where the ropes cross over. Was that done in the sandblasting or is it a glaze?
Is the orange in the center painted, it looks a little different in colour than the backdrop.
You could take that same design and execute it in so any different ways. I'd love to see it sandcarved without any colour. The celtic knots are great for that. I also think the outer circle
would look great with a mat centre and bright outlines. So many possible ways to approach the same project. [Smile]

The background is an orange throw, on the couch just as a backdrop- the glass piece is otherwise clear. Yes, that's Damar varnish and the overlaping areas are highlit with glaze. It WOULD be fun to do a whole series of variations on the theme!
Kept track of the time- 3 hours, 15 sheets of gold and the piece of glass...

Cat,

That is just awesome!

I need to learn glass work. I am intruiged by it.

Hopefully I will be able to pick Kelly's brain at Shanes Workshop next month. (hint hint)

Cat, I need to stop in and see you sometime. I am always traveling through the Albany area. Let's see, there is you, the Balch's, Frank Smith, and so many more to meet. BTW, where is Philip Steffen?

What great work Cat.

Peace,
Bob

Well Bob, you are welcome to pick my brain as long as you sort it before you put it back. [Wink]
Looking forward to meeting you.

Hi Kelly,

Thanks in advance. Do you prefer a 3 tab or 5 tab organize on the folders? [Smile]

Thanks for letting me borrow your post Cat.

Once again, really nice work.

Peace,
Bob
