Here are a few shots of a recent motorcycle project. These pics were taken just before the clear coat was applied. I plan to get some better ones after the bike is back together.
The theme of the artwork plays on the owners Scottish heritage and includes some significant items relating to that, such as the castle, family crest and tartan, and landscape. On the fun side he wanted to depict the Braveheart type of Scottish Warrior and the sultry maiden Scottish Wench.
A fun project, as he left the entire layout up to me.

Great, as always.

Great work... and a lot of it. Did you use someone you know to model the different poses for you or at least do a photo shoot, or are you just good enough that you illustrate straight from your head?

Speechless here! I'd love to see you Paint sometime.

Thanks guys;
Kelsey; I rely on reference material for almost everything. I've never been too good at just winging it and for me, my end results are achieved because of the time that I do spend putting together good reference pics.
In this case most of the images came from different fantasy art books and I redraw them, changing them into the type of character that I am looking to create.
Even for the backgrounds I will quite often have some type of reference photo, but I never copy anything exactly. Just use them as a guide line and work my own style into it.
By the way...seen some of your work on here lately...looking good!!!
Hey Neil; been tossing around the thought of a bike trip down east this summer...definitely would like to look you up if I ride out that way.
thanks
