ended up using the one-shot/smiths cream/hardener method ... I realise from when I asked there are probably better ways but it seemed to me the concensis was the os/sc worked but took time ... I had the time and os/sc but not a lot of budget for play
I originally designed it to go just beyond the window with the barber poles and wanted gold leaf at least on the letters. Budget brought it down to 8' and aqua leaf.

Wow, that's really sharp!

Great layout and all, top to bottom, left to right.

I bet they love it.

Any other photos? Any more details?

Peace out,
Bob

Professional it is!
That is one crisp clean layout. And we all know that goldleaf is tops, but from the picture Aqua Leaf sure doesnt hurt the quality of this sign.

closer up (that puffy stuff on sides of letters is snow)

not really rocket science in construction ...
HDU, routed out panel behind main copy (filled with the smaltz), v groove secondary copy, glue extra pieces on for poles (shaped round with a palm sander), dibond backer with studs for mounting

Looks good Mark! My Dad was a Barber, still got the chair, and he still cuts my hair.

That's cool Mark! I always loved the "barber Pole"....my mom bought one at a garage sale once...I wonder if she still has it...I'd like to install it inside my office...

Nice job on the entire sign...classy.

Great sign, Mark.
I love the way the smalts worked against your soft gold. Barber poles are one of my favs from childhood too. (don't get a haircut, now, we'll never recognize you!)
