Guy came in the shop last week. Asked if I could paint a Rebel flag on his tank. Of course I said sure! We walked outside and it was a HONDA rebel. . Now don't get me wrong. I'm not a die hard Harley man. I just like nice bikes of all flavors.....but a rebel flag on a Honda? . After going thru the steps to find out what his budget was, I told him I could hand brush it for what he had (that way he wouldn't have to clear it) and off we went. Here's a pic of the tank done
Oh, and bottom section on the left of the flag that is ripped off is painted on the back fender. With the words....."Ride with pride" .
Oh well, at least I got paid
Here is the back fender

Jake - that is cool! I like the *dimensional* look down the center.
Ya know what's funny? I just duplicated those Honda w/Wings logos you show on the side of that tank for a guy yesterday evening. Same tank, same color.
His was a 250 cc. Do you recall what that one was?
Let me know if the guy ever needs the "Honda" tank decals....I can send you the file.

Hey I'm not a huge fan of Rebel flags (due to being a Union descendant) people up here always want 'em, which is crazy because they are YANKEES. (Sorta like painting it on a Honda)
However, Jake, you did a bang-up job. Your shading and the way you placed the flag on the tank is just great. I would have liked to see that back fender as well.
You know, sometimes I love to see how far you can push a brush without digging out the airbrush. I dislike using them and have always striven to make it look as if. You managed VERY well. Love....Jill

Heh, that is sorta funny. Looks really slick anyhow!
That reminds me of this guy that lives not to far from me who owns a Hyabusa and has a big Union Jack painted on it, WTF? Sometimes there's no accounting for taste.

Thanks guys,
Jilly, I got to get the bike outside to get some shots of the front and back fender. Probably get another of the tank too. My shop has crap for lighting.
That and a sux at taking pictures
And ya,, Todd, Its a 250. Talk about a little bike, I feel like Lerch on the thing, and I'm only 5'10 !

I used to have one of those. I am 6'4". Laugh it up.
Actually I learned how to paint on the tank with that lil Rebel. Painted it about 4-5 times. Then sold it to a guy from the city (Chicago), and he was at least 6'3". He asked if he looked too big on it. What could I say? "Nah! It looks great!"

Thats cool Jake, and shows that brushes and one shot can still do alot of stuff.

My fiancee has a 450 rebel, and she is about to get her motorcycle endorsement. Cool little bikes, but being a little over 6', I need something with a little more uuuummmmpppppffff!...
One thing on the paint. That has a few too many stars. The flag only has 13 stars.

Mark, Google the rebel flag and you'll find that there is alot of different renditions of the flag. That is the one the guy wanted to copy.
I'm with ya on the bike, It could use a little more uuummmpppfff!
And thanks John, It was kinda nice not having to mess with airbrush this time. Lord knows I ain't the best with those... I'll take a stick with hair on the end of it any day. Now if I could airbrush like some of the guys around here, that might be a different thing....(and you know who you are)

Yeah, thats why I have a 750. If I had know then what I know now, I would have gotten at least an 1100, but I do have my eye on a new Yamaha Warrior...1750 cc, and fuel injected, not to mention a 300 rear tire. I have a friend that has one, and it registers 150 on the speedo...and I bet it would do all of it.
