Hi Scott,

there is a set of instructions somewhere here on Letterville, but after a while you forget where they are & it becomes second nature anyway.

1. The pictures must be small- each less than 60k in size, & less than about 500 pixels wide, at 72 ppi. Photoshop is good for optimising the size & letting you work out how much shrinkage you can accept before degradation becomes an issue. If you can't do that comfortably, email them to me & I'll resize them for you.

2. You need to 'put' them somewhere on somebody's server where the rest of the world can have access to them. Residents of Letterville get to use Steve & Barb's Letterville server. Everyone else has to use somewhere else. If Jordan Signs has a website, you can probably sneak them ('upload', to use the correct term) up there on that server. Some people use some of the free member's photo display ones at Yahoo, etc.

On letterville, the location is http://www.letterhead.com/album/

3. When they're uploaded, go to the server or location & find the file, and right click on it & look in 'properties' for its official location & name. Highlight & Copy this. (ctrl-C). It could be some name like http://www.members.yahoo.com.au/ScottJordanCaringbah/28August05pic.jpg or something. (I made that up, I don't really know where yahoo stores stuff)

4. Go to your post in Letterville & click on the "full reply" form & type your message. When you want to insert a picture, click on the < image> button at the bottom of the screen & Paste (ctrl-P) the full http://name&location of the pic into the questionbox & hit <enter>.

5. Watch out if you want text after the picture- make sure you're at the bottom of the screenwindow & hit enter AFTER the "</image> tag". Type away. It'll land in the right place then. Otherwise there's a danger you'll accidentally split the image location tags with new text.

6. click <submit> & hope for the best & recheck it if something's amiss.

Hope that helps. It's not as daunting as it might seem once you get the hang of it. It helps to have two browser windows open at once- one from which to copy the image location, & one on Portfolio, to write it into as you go.

Best wishes!
