This is a design I did for Jeff Ogden, with his help. It was cool to go through the design process with another designer and come up with something they like.

Don:
I very clean design. Nice work! [Applause]

It brings up a question that perhaps should be put to the general BB, but here goes.
Why is it that we have such a hard time designing our own advertising pieces?
As you mentioned you colaborated with Jeff to come up with this design.
Right now I am considering a much needed "redo' of my company image, and seem to have hit the wall with a LACK of creative juices.
I could use some help, but am resistant to let down and say I can't do it "myself".
Well, thanks for your time, and again KUDO'S on this business card design.

Very nice, as always, John. You have a very unique grasp on what layout is all about.

Robert - you asked a great question. I don't have any idea of how to answer it, other than to say we are our own worst critics most of the time. When we are working for ourselves we are constantly worried about what the customer will think. And we are afraid of what other sign folks may think of our abilities. Most of the time there are just too many possibilities going through our heads.

It's good to see so many in our profession updating their own designs. Let's practice what we preach.

Outstanding John! I really love the motion of the eagle and the panel behind it.

Thanks,

Here is my old card design that I had done years ago. I don't think I ever showed it to John, as I didn't want to limit him in any way.

I know what Robert was saying about not liking your own stuff and having difficulty asking help from others. I was kinda like that..mostly I just kept putting it off, and there were times recently when people were asking me for a card, and I didn't have one, because I didn't like my old card anymore.

I made up my mind to modernize my image up front, and I like John's work, so I approached him about doing them, and am glad I did. He is a real gent and made me feel right at home during the whole process.

Seeing the old with the new might give you a better picture of the design's movement through time.

Thanks again for all your help, John !! [Applause]

Business cards are almost a 4x8 in scale, signpainters cards often look like a 4x8(many of mine, at least lol!)

John

a new card is in the works, MDO all the way!!!

Wow, what a great job John!! There isn't anything I would even consider changing; it's perfect; and for such a wonderful guy too.
