This is a recent HDU sign we did for a funeral home. All the lettering is gilded including the G on the bottom of the posts. Again the posts are the aluminum sleeve with a treated wood post inside. The caps are HDU coated with 2 part epoxy then painted with latex paint. The bases and the sign are painted with Benjamin Moore acrylic latex. The steele frame is 1 inch light wall tubing that supports the sign on the back and attaches it to the post. The sign is not laminated to dibond, but has epoxy plugs in the back to attach the metal frame to. The junction box for the electrical is in the bottom right base. The back of the base removes for easy access. The aluminum stringer that we had custom bent allows us to run the eletrical across for the left hand coach lamp. The building is white with green trim and has oval windows in french doors for the front entrance, therefore the oval sign. The building has identical coach lamps and brass hardware on the doors which helps tie the gold leaf in with the building and gives it a very professional air. Impressive Pat! I especially like the handling of the lights and the initials on the bottom of the posts. How thick is the HDU - you said you have no backing on it. I'm always worried about kids climbing on stuff.

Kelly here is what the frame looks like, it is fairly basic. Peter the posts are something you should be able to pick up at your local lumber yard. G'day Lotti...yes all the lettering and the "G's" on the post bottoms were hand carved as well as the address #...the main sign is HDU the "G" is Medex with edges coated out in epoxy resin prior to painting...Then guilded the letter and edges...

Peter & John...The Aluminum posts are actually Columns...Used by contractors to finish columns on verandas... so you should be able to find them at any lumber yard that supplies contractors....They come in 4-pieces that snap together in both round and square...they only come in a 5 and 1/2 inch diameter in both cases...The Company is Colonial Elegance out of Montreal, Quebec...and the product is just simply called Aluminum Columns....The snaps jut out on the inside of the posts when put together, so you'll have to do some shimming when fitting your post inside...other than that they are great and come enamel coated in white.... the rest of the post treatment is up to your imagination...Hope this helps...Pat

Can you tell me which BenMoore acrylic latex you used? What sheen is it (soft gloss, high gloss)? Moorglo Latex House paint by chance?
I a big fan of BM products and am excited to know they can be used on signage.

Hi Dallas your close to home just 6 hours away...This was B.Moore Acrylic latex soft gloss and on the murals we do, we use B. Moores Heritage or historical colors in the soft gloss or flat ( we prefer the flat as the murals look better in the flat.)
