Finally got rid of the Durango and got a nice new Ford pick-up. I wanted any color except red, but when that is all we could find with what we wanted, I caved on the condition I get to do it like a firetruck! I didn't go overboard on stripes & all cause around here, anything other than SignGold done in the wrong size of turns and most unreadable fashion on the doors is a huge improvement. Other than the license plate (SignGold Florentine) and town, phone & tagline in black vinyl, everything is hand laid 23kt Gold, hand burnished. The corners are burnished correctly to show depth, but the close-up shots didn't come out very well.

All that's missing now is the rack with a ladder and the stay back 500' mudflaps.
How's about we elect you as honorary Fire Chief of Letterville.

Thanks everyone.
Well Doug, I picked it up on the 3rd, dropped it off for spray-in bedliner on 9th, picked it up on 10th and started lettering it on the 13th. Of course, as soon as I put it in the garage, vowing not to take it out til it was done, the phone started ringing like crazy. I didn't keep track of exactly how many hours I have in it (or how much gold I used, just flung the empty books over my shoulder). Some days I would only get an hour or two and many days I never saw the inside of the shop.
Peter, I have a kid's fire helmet (I have a small head, it fits!) that makes siren noises when ya press the fire emblem. Thinking of printing my own emblem for it & hanging it in the truck. hehe.
Had to drop off some stuff for my body shop guy today. He's now pretty much convinced he wants gold leaf on his new signs.
