this is a recent truck i finished using stencil-rite masking, cut with a sharp #11 exacto knife blade then rolling on 1-shot lettering enamels and "tipping" the letters with a fine 2 1/2" bristle brush. (to get a nice slick finish.)
I layed in the stencil-rite in the approximate area the logo would go by striking horizontal lines with a chalk line and using measurements from a computer sketch, pounced the pattern, cut the mask and rolled paint.
the back door and red ball logos are HP Vinyl.
I know this is not a tricked out truck lettering job, but this kind of work is bread and butter for my one-person signshop.
never the less, i work hard at doing the job right and precise in a timely fashion.
the job put some good coin in my bank account and the customer was satisfied. (I have done 6 trucks over the last few years.)

Looks like the kind of stuff I do Mark.
That's a nice clean design & your right, the finish turned out slick. Is "stencil-rite masking" another brand of mask or some kind of vinyl paint mask?
I've used mask in the past and had a few problems with bleed. Just wondering.

hey wayne, stencil-rite (some folks call it tuff-back) is a paper type mask not a vinyl mask. it has a rough backing that you roll out from under as you apply the mask. i had a little bleed around rivets but it is very easy to touch up.

Hi Mark. Nice clean job. The finish looks fantastic. By tipping, are you feathering with a dry brush to knock down the stroke-marks? Just curious. Love...jill

thanks jill, yes i "tip" the brush to remove the roller marks. it leaves a nice glossy paint finish.
i also added a little penetrol to the paint to give a harder finish.

Mark,
I really like this kind of job. It's so clean and ledgable and shows real layout skills.
I'd be proud to say I did it. No tricking out needed.
