I love making sidewalk signs. The pattern I'm now using is slightly tapered (top is 2" narrower than the base) from a 24x48 blank.

The first is a mexican grill. A few months ago I posted this in the design stage for comments and suggestions. I finally got the film back, and wanted to show the final piece.

The second one is painted silver (I cant seem to photograph it so it will "read" as silver though) and has silver studs (nickel plated uphostery nails).

Sweet Stuff Scooter...

I like them both! The Mexican Grill is kind of fun and carnival like... reminds me of The Haight. [Cool]

I really like the logo at The Upper Playground. Good use of the Sea Lion.

By the way, where are these places exactly?? My old girlfriend from Holland lives in the Castro...

thanks. both stores are in San Francisco.

Papalote Mexican Grill is the Mission District, on 24th Street at Valencia. (Its the best burrito in town, and I did the sign for half cash and half trade. i love eating there and the old sign depressed me every time I saw it. The trade was the hook to the "offer he couldn't refuse".)

Upper Playground is in the Lower Haight, on Fillmore Street near Haight St.

Lookin' good. I like the shape and the handles as well as the design.

the handles are "Hinge Handles" (made in Canada, but my local supplier sells them). they cost me $4.50, and they're worth it. The customers love them - no more pinched fingers.
