Ok, it's not a sign, but I still did it, with my own widdle handsies (and a mouse). Author lives in my town and had heard of me. She had most of the concept idea in mind when she approached me, but no images to work with. Most of the items were gathered from web references and assembled into the collage image. There was extensive Photoshop re-painting of every element to replace the missing details due to low resolution web images. All images were public domain or royalty free. The silhouette figures in the foreground were taken right out of CorelDRAW clipart.

Book is now on sale at Amazon and Barnes & Nobel . I get no commission from this so don't run out and buy the book on my behalf. I am just getting my personal copy so I havn't read it yet. Looks like my kind of read though, so I look forward to it. It'll be fun(ny) to have it on my nighstand. In the highly unlikely event I have 'company' in my bedroom I can casually mention how it's just another of the many ways I impact the lives of thousands of people every day. That could segue into discussing other forms of impact, but we won't go there.

Looks great, Joe.

If it's a Sci Fi thriller, I'm gonna look that one up.

That cover should help sell the book. You did a great job.

A cover is the most important thing to get folks to pick up a book. And this artwork should do the trick nicely!

Great work!

OK, Joe, guess I'll be the "bad guy" [Smile]

I don't like the title colors. think it will get lost at a distance. The blends of the photos and other stuff look excellent, just something about the title text made me say, "nah, Joe can do better" [Smile]

But then again, i can't read either , LOL

I'll be the bad guy too....I like the flaming ball and the "idea" of the flame being in some of the letters...but,

I would have done the flame in the letters over the area where the ball of flame is, and had the flame in the letters semi-transparent, not fully showing.

The Capital and silhouettes look too cut and pasted for me...just my opinion, not that you asked for a review.

I generally like hand art on book covers more than photos...and I'm not sure why that is....maybe because if it's fiction, it helps lend creedence to the whole creative/imagination thing that comes with reading fictional books.

Photos on book covers, to me, are more suited to "what really happened on the grassy knoll?" or "The Watergate Years" or something of that nature.

Is this book fiction or non?
