Great job Mike, man a dirt car with legible numbers , now there's a new concept:) If only all these new "decal guys" as they like to call themselves on the race car circuits, would learn to use the fancy foils as intelligently as you have.
Where in the pecking order of cars is the 08 at New Egypt, is that the entry level class or a step up? Last time I was there was in the sixties when it was paved.

Very nice! Looks like a future sign painter's work on the wall behind the 08 car. :-)

Thanks Ryan, I was taught readability is the first and foremost thing on these jobs. If some one sponsors a car for a few grand, then goes to the track and can't read their name from the stands, they will not be happy!

Suelynn, used to get sleeves of Gatorade cups for free, but no more, thats my last batch.

George, I agree, seems like a waste for the price of the holographic vinyl, but I feel it gives so much more depth to the lettering used that way, I choose to do it. Just because it's vinyl, it soesn't have to look like it [Smile]

Brian, Thanks for the comments!

New Smyrna wasn't the same without Jamie. First time in years that he hasn't made the journey south. The cars look great Mike. I agree, "less is more" works best, with the holo vinyls. Don't forget about the brush either. A quick, easy 1 Shot shadow, saves on materials, and looks good. Besides when they ask why did you paint that? You can say "Because I CAN"! Keep it wet.

Thanks Rob!

Michael, The numbers on the roof (99) can be 12" tall now to accomodate sponsors on the roof (NASCAR allows this now, used to be 24" tall), So he wanted the small numbers since he (Jamie)sometimes sells that space on a per-race basis for advertising.

Luke, Thanks, I missed going to Florida for the second year, will have to get down there next Feb. Jamie was having a new engine built, so he passed this year too.

The numbers on the 99 are one shot airbrushed with highlights, and one shot outline. I have too much invested in paint and brushes to let it sit around all the time, and I still enjoy it too much! [Smile]
