Thanks for the kind words everone. I have bumped up my other chrome post becouse it went into more detail about the chrome. The gears were done by hand an then scaned into the computer vectorized and then cut. I then placed the gears one by one on the helmet. I connected some with levers and I also put them on top of each other.I then painted the background with a dark red. Then I painted shadows around the first layer of gears.You have to think in reverse becouse the first layer of gears are the last layer or the bottom layer on the design. Then you shadow the last layer of gears. this puts shadows on the bottom layer of gears. After all of your gears are unmasked you paint the entire area with transparent Candy red. That probably is real confusing. If any one wants to try it drop me a line, I talk better than I type.
