Here's a photo of the completed Venetian sign before it's delivery and install. The day was abit dreary, so the photo is abit dark.

Thanks you guys!

Suelyn, thanks for asking ... yes it is. (I was hoping I could pull it off as looking dimensional.)

I actually added a shadow beneath the green reverse panel after the photo was taken, to help add dimension. (photos come in handy to catch stuff like that)

what are the materials used?(vinyl, paint)
which parts are hand-painted(if not all) which parts are vinyl.

it doesn't really matter what materials were used, that is an effective sign.

thanks for sharing,

mark

Hiya Mark! [Smile]

I used 3/4" thick mdo.

The background fade, sun, water, and green reverse panel, along with the words, "THE" and "VENETIAN" are all painted.

The black stuff (cattails, bird, shadow on "venetian" and black inset border) are vinyl.
Also, the green address and the lighter green
pinstripes and diamond within the reverse panel are vinyl too.

As mentioned, I later added a cast shadow under the reverse panel to give more depth, and to make the panel look more like it was standing off.
I painted that shadow using tinting clear (for transparency) with just a drop of black.

Thanks for your interest! [Smile]

Very nice as usual, Nettie! I love your style. I would have guessed that it was dimensional so you pulled it off perfect.

sweet

I spent time studying the background shadows to figure out if it was dimensional ... should'a read the other posts first ... I thought it was

Great work. I like the high contrasts, and it does have good 3D intrigue. High contrast signs, make for high impact signs with class , and this is a good example. I remember your drawings on this one and was looking forward to seeing it. Jack
