How I spent my summer vacation. Or at least last weekend. Below are three links to pix of a 2001 PT Cruiser that I laid flames on Sunday. The owner wanted something very subtle. So, we went with pearl white ghost flames with a red outline slightly off the base color. He is standing in the background of one of the shots. As the guy pulled out of my drive, the flames seemed to disappear, and that was at about 40-50 feet away. Just like he wanted.
There are two shots of the car in some bright sunshine before the outline and one after the outline as the sun dipped behind a cloud.
I mixed a little pearl powder in with some DuPont ChromeClear and then laid more straight clear on that, just where the flames were. Wet sanded and buffed, then outlined it all with 1 Shot to define the edges as well as help hide the tape edge build up.

Great Job, Lee.. If you don't mind me askin', what did you charge the customer.?
As much as I hate to admit this, I only charged him $300. Stubby is a good friend and I was dieing to get photos of a Cruiser in my portfolio. Since this isn't my main income, I figure I didn't lose any money. Especially when you consider he's already sending me business! I only have about $65 in materials in the job.

Three hundred is cheap but ok for a friend... just ell him not to let anyone else know what he paid.. I charge that much just to lay a stripe around the flames!
