Hiya Sal,
Any idea what's behind the stucco & mesh? The owner of the building should be able to help you there.
I go through the stucco and into whatever is solid behind the stucco using the appropriate fasteners.

Havin' fun,

Normally these "facade structures" are supported with steel studs (or possibly wood) use a stud finder and attach it thru the stucco and foam to them with a long #14 tech screw...this is a small cabinet and weight should be of not much concern (4 mountings will be sufficient) remember you're
only holding "sheer weight" here and the mesh will insure your support. Be carefull not to draw it down so as to crush the finish (the downward pressure will make it fast to the surface).

Architects seem to delight in these facades if for no other reason than to make sign guys nuts.

You may find it benificial to put a sheet of paper over the area ...drill your holes accoringly (to insure good anchorages then use the paper as a pattern to tranfer to the back of the can ...oversize your holes and use washers in the can slightly so you can adjust it for level.

Hope this helps... but if you're afraid of the mounting I've described thru bolt t to the back side if you can get to it using a backing plate (like large fender washers)...using the same method I've described here for the pattern.

It won't go anywhere!

Sal,
Is the electric run already? Maybe the electrical contractor knows wht's behind the stucco.
Some buildings will have a crawl space behind the facia. If there is one, get up in there and take a look.
Good luck,

Checkers

The best way to fasten this sign would be to drill the holes all the way through the wall. Then take a allthread rod through the sign holders and through a 2X4 on the backside of the wall. Tighten nuts collect money and have a good New Year.
