When we order a blank banner or other substrate, my business partner always adds 40% to that cost before he figures out anything else. I was reading where people charge $5-$6.50 a foot but wondered if that was for everything.

I use Bandanna Banner- comes in a 75' roll w/2 grommets every 2'. My normal everyday rate for banners is 6 bux a sq. ft. Vinyl runs about 90 cents a foot, and the banner runs about $1.00 a foot, so a 3X10 banner, costs me around $20-25,(plus labor & design) I charge 180+ tax. (30 sq.ft.X $6) Well above the 40%.

On the average, I charge anywhere from 6.50 to 8.60 a sq ft. It depends on how much copy, how small of copy, etc. I try to gauge how long it will take to week small copy, or if its only a few words, how big are those few words. If there is any thermal printed image on it, then that is extra. Hope this helps.
