well...after reading all the posts on that topic, i thought to myself...okay there's some folks out there that can't handle the "read inbetween the *&%$ stuff", i certainly offend james donahue...he used 2 of my little phrases as examples, laura butler is definitely offended by 70%(ok..maybe 80% [Embarrassed] )of my posts, bill preston and jimmy chatham, i can read inbetween the lines so i know what list i'm on...first off...sorry folks...my goal in life isn't too offend people...but i am what i am, and so far i don't think my choice of words is going to hinder my spiritual journey(i'm pretty comfortable in my skin)...i tend to think my good qualities more than offset the bad...and just for the record...i can shut it off just as quick as it comes on when needed. i guess there isn't one word known to me that would offend me, but that's just me. i think i would be more hurt/offended if someone said, "i hate you".....but my point and there is one! [Wink]

i happen to click on a profile(thinking who is this person that can't stand me? lol) and i noticed the this little thing on the bottom right hand of the screen....ADD TO YOUR IGNORE LIST...how COOL is that!!! laura and the others don't leave the board...just put me on the ignore list...i don't want to be the reason why people want to leave!

well hopefully that will solve the problems some have with my posts...ya won't even have to look at my ugly mug! [Razz] hey everyone...have a great week and turkey day!!!!! [Wink]

Hey there! Stephanie here.
To tell you the truth I have tried that for someone else who posted nude stuff. (Our children often hang over our shoulder when were reading the BB) Then, I read the FAQ and realized it doesn't work that way. [Razz]

I never saw any nude stuff. But, its like anything else. If we don't like it, change the channel. It's easier today than at any time in history, but we seem to have the hardest time pushing that button.

I have read off color stuff here before, but, when the posts head south, I bail out and quit reading. A simple solution.

For what it's worth Karyn, you usually make me laugh! You kind of look like my sister in law.

Hi Karyn...
Just add [Embarrassed] instead of a swear word? Or [Mad] when you are mad? Just my dumb [Eek!] idea? Completely offense free [Razz] , child-safe and colorful too!
Love ya

It maybe a post I made about a really great Artist Odd Nerdrum, who paints in a similar style to Rembrandt, but his subject matter differs somewhat. He is very well know all over the world, has had exhibitions in the US, comes from Norway, and he had a big exhibition here in Sweden, a couple of years back, and the poster advertising this all over town, was a self portrait, of him standing with a hard on. This was all over Stockholm, and I asked whether this was art or kitsch, and got alot of replies [Smile] So I wont repost the pic. here's a link to some of his work so you can see he's a serious artist. www.oddnerdrum.com

Karyn, I think your langauge is harmless, and gives me a chuckle, every film you rent today is filled with it. Your reference to riding....was something I had never heard before, but as Adrienne said once when she saw Odd's todger, she nearly spit her coffee out all over the keyboard..I guess I felt the same but in a humorous way....must have been all those years in a Benedictine Monastery boarding school! [Smile] Not that I have been back in there company for 27 years!

Henry,

I remember your post and loved it. It introduced me to Odd Nerdrum and he has since inspired me to no end. His paintings are remarkable. Thanks!

Wouldn't it be great to have a Bull**** filter??? All the lameass bull**** that comes into ones life would be cast to the waste heap and we'd never need to be aware of the other side of things we hold precious right and moral....
(and maybe my ex-wife would be at the bottom of that heap) [Big Grin] !

Then again we don't live in black and white now do we?....
life is better this way.

I like the way folks add color to life, even better if it's outside the lines!

When I talked to Karyn over the Phone I laughed my ****in' ass off [Razz] !

Ignore and overlook what someone else says? Gee, what a novel idea. I thought that was the point of my last reply on the other post, that I've been ignoring other people's comments, but it's not mutual.

The whole thing sounds a bit strange though, I mean, aren't people trying to contribute things that are useful? Why would you want someone ignoring what you say, unless it's not substantial to begin with.?

Karyn, I read every one of your replies, I try to glean what I can from people that live differently than I do. I need that because not everything I believe is set in concrete,(some is).I'm inclined to give a specific example, but somebody invariably will think that's what I'm talking about.

Although I sign all of my work " HotLines " I known to my friends as F-ckin Joey. Jerry Mathel went to the Conclave some years back and when introduced to Herb Martinez and some others they asked where he was from, Jerry said Grants Pass and after a minute or so, Herb said F-ckin Joey!

Well I guess its hard to please all the bible thumpers along with those who are always politically correct, and the others who let their children read this BB. I personally don't see a problem as we're all grown-ups, right? Yeah right!!!

I can see this post going downhill in a hurry!!

I just gotta tell everybody, Karyn is one of the best gals you could ever meet. I stayed with her
at FKAB in Quebec this summer, and I haven't felt that good in a long, long time! We talked like we'd known each other forever, and we laughed ALL weekend.

Karyn is one of those people you meet that touch your life in some way. She has great energy, and is actually very spritiual in a lot of ways.

It is true, she does tell it like it is; but it is actually quite refreshing! She gets straight to the point without being mean...something others could take lessons from.

You go girl,
Suelynn

This BB is like a train wreck or a car wreck some times. People say they don't like to see vile and disgusting things but BOY! it's pretty hard to look away, isn't it? [Smile]

Karyn I would never leave the BB because of you (not that I ever said I'd leave anyway) in fact, the controversies are the EXACT reason everyone on this site comes back to read more because THAT is what makes it interesting!

If nothing here caught anyone's fancy or tripped some sort of emotion, the total user base here would be a big fat ZERO because nobody's gonna hang around a boring place.

Add me to the be yurself vote.

One thing I have noticed in my years online.
(way back to local BBS's)
People are always tryin' to control other's actions instead of themselves.

Be yur-futz'un-self. -

Ok Steve...I've seen the word Jesus and Bible in this post already...time to shut it down because of the religious theme. Or are these religious words acceptable as long as they're used in a negative way?

How about a separation of church and website clause?

Like the bad language filter you could filter all religious terms, but also including Bible Thumper, Jeezus, GD, hypocrite and the entire lot?

It's gone from the original topic of "Foul Language" to Christian bashing. If religion is a banned topic, then it should go both ways.

Sequels are usually far worse than the original. Can't this end?

Karyn, I laugh at all your posts, just like I laugh the whole time we talk. If people are so offended by the language here, it's a good thing they aren't listening to our phone conversations, right bitch?

You're one of the real people here, not the goody-good fluffy people who leave me with an urge to brush my teeth after I read their drivel.

As far as I'm concerned this is a done deal. We live in a very diverse society made up of all sorts of different personalities. Most of us are willing to practice some tolerance, and at least accept, if not welcome the uniqueness in each other. If the language or laws of Letterville would drive anyone away, I have to wonder how anyone can leave their homes.

I'm a pretty liberal guy, but I still believe there is a time and place for everything. Out of respect, or fear of a back hander, I always watch my speach around my Mother.

This subject has been well debated. At this point we are just picking at each other in an effort to get in that last hit. Since this is our meet, we get the last word in this matter.

When posting, we ask that you use the same language and manners you would use if addressing all the attendees at a live meet. It's that simple.
