Hopefully someone here can help me. My Roland CM-24 is acting strangely. It sometimes will cut as usual. Sometimes it acts erratic. It will track without anything being sent to plot, etc. It will track in and out, etc., fine when I do a set-up, but it will track to the left only intermittantly. Short bursts at a time. I have checked all connections. I have unplugged for 2 days hoping to dump the cache. Nothing works.
I have unplugged it from the port just to see if it will act "normal" without being "hooked" up and it still acts weird. What to do?
I have a back-up plotter, so I'm not totally out of the vinyl biz, but I would like to know how to fix this thing. I can change "boards" ,etc., if need be. Can someone point me in the right direction as to where I might buy parts? (If I need to.)
Thanks in advance for your HELP, R.T.

Might be a keypad problem, it would produce similar antics to what you are experiencing. I'm not sure what kind of key pad this model has, but some were troublesome, the ones that are like little bubbles you press, if I'm making any sense in my description. Anyways just a guess!

Hi Tim, Thanks, I had thought about that. Seems the keypad doesn't do what it's supposed to do alright. It does have the little bubble type buttons. I'm just not sure if that's the problem or if it might be deeper than that and something wrong with the mainboard. Thanks again for your help and that's something that I am defintely looking at.
See ya, R.T.

Yeah......thanx Gail. I think that's the problem. Gonna cost way more than I need to spend to fix it. It might just have to be broken for a while.

Good luck- I managed to get the control board on our Camm1 fixed in Brisbane for around $180 two years ago. The price on yours mightn't be as bad as you think!
