I have just installed a oval wood sign hung with panel hangers. This is attached to a scroll bracket by a threaded bolt with an Eyelet at the end. We bent the eyelet open and put it threw the panel hanger. Metal on Metal Now it squeaks.
How do I stop this. it's a small hole but I was going to try rubber tube slit and hope it will fit into the Panel Hanger hole.

First of all;welcome to the wonderful world of letterheads.Now to work-spray the clips with varithane,this should solve the squeak for a while.

Use sealed bearings like on a skate board that should work.

You might want to sand or grind the panel hanger holes just a little.
If the holes have sharp edges, rounding them down a bit can stop the squeaking, and over time, the edges won't wear into the eyehooks and "gouge" them. A dab of axle grease helps, too.

I've seen that problem even with lag eye's and "S" hooks. Same installation hardware, and sometimes it squeaks, other times it's fine. Sometimes the sound travels through the bracket and you hear it inside the building and it's quiet outside.

Maybe the squeek is not such a bad idea. It will draw more attention to the sign. The only squeeking sign in town, a novelty. A very tall person won't bump their head, the squeek will warn them. It also should keep the birds off of it. Think of the possibilities.

Bill, the squeaking that troubles me is the one that you hear inside the store. The sound is not heard outside, but seems transmitted through the bracket and amplified by the wall. When you have an apartment over the store, this can be rather annoying to the tennant.
