Tomorrow (Tuesday) is a national holiday here in Canada. All the mall management types that have anything to do with our jobsite took today off as well, making a four day weekend for them.
We are working through the holidays in our effort to go home sooner. We worked yesterday (Sunday) too. This meant that for four whole days there weren't any Mall type folks around to bother or interupt us while we worked. Not one change order or delay!
It also means that we can push the rules just a little (make that a lot!)as well. The big equipment can remain on the floor in public areas longer as we push the boundaries and clean up our working mess just as the public comes in the gates.
It makes a difference of more than 30 minutes of working time and at the end of 4 days it adds up to a whole bunch more work!
The work also proceeds at a frantic pace for other good reasons... by the time the management types show up on Wednesday there will be lots done to completion before they can change their minds.
Things are proceeding nicely... 1/2 person day of welding, four person days of wiring, five person days of mud, and about 12-15 person days of painting before we get to go home!! Divided by a five person crew and that makes about 8-9 more days!!
Happily counting the remaining days in Edmonton!!!!!!!

Dan..I am enjoying your progress reports a lot!
BUT..I have to ask..what part of Canada considers Rememberance Day a "National holiday"???????
"edited part"..I am a 20 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion and I respect all that Rememberance Day means and am truly thankful for the sacrifices that our vets (including my Dad) made to ensure our country is a free country. I just don't remember Rememberance Day ever being a "National Holiday".

My mistake Dave...
I thought it was a statuary holiday to remember those brave folks who gave the ultimate sacrifice on our behalf. Lots of people get the day off from what I see.
