Maybe the market will support all of 'em! The ratio is lower now then it was when you started!
What's the ratio of stick on letter (only?) shops to actual "quality" producers?

Never mind my dumb ratios!

Bob, what are you going to do when you retire? Have you found a 95 year old widow who owns a liquor store, cathouse and Harley dealership?

Terry.....I'm lookin'!

FIFTY! No wonder you're cranky. That's a sign shop for ever 1600 people. You say seven are full-service, which would indicate they do big-time electric signs, neon, and repair/maintenance. So how many do the high-end work - nice design, carving and blasting, gold leaf, that sort of thing? I'm guessing not more than another half-dozen, tops. That's a much more interesting discussion than counting the bottom-feeders.
I've been to Prescott, though not recently. My thoughts at the time were that someone was doing some decent work around town, though like about anywhere, the good stuff is greatly outnumbered by the crap.

Cam, I'm the only one making a "living"......all the others are hurting.....some leave but more shops keep on coming. The CIty of Prescott is "death on all kinds of signs....No A frames....nothing over 40 sq. ft.......no billboards, and the Historical Commitee picks the layouts & colors for the signs, and theyre ALWAYS wrong! Then there's PLANNING and ZONING, and City ENGINEERING.....(gasp!)
