I'm doing a couple of signs that will be going to Bancroft, Ontario. A local woman here (in Connecticut) is building a bar/restaurant there called the Bear's Lair, and she's going to be taking the signs there in early November. The signs are very cool - a 3'x 4' DF carved sign with a bear holding a mug of beer on his belly, and a big (15'x 2') SF sign with raised cut-out letters. The bears (on each side) are carved from two and a half inch thick SignFoam, and both signs are going to have smalt backgrounds.
Now that I'm almost done with these, I've been wondering about Bancroft. Anybody ever been there? It's about 60 miles north of Lake Ontario and maybe that much due west of Ottowa, in Ontario's Lake district. The customer tells me there's lots of bears up there. I won't be delivering these; the customer is loading them on a trailer for the trip north.

Bancroft is ab0out 2 hours north-east of Toronto, as the crow flies. It was originally mining territory back in the 1800s and into the 1900s. Last few years, Bancroft are has become cottage-country as the areas closer to Toronto have seen their prices shoot thru the roof.
Your customer should do well as long as she remembers the one rule of running a good establishment in that sort of area: "Have fun, and don't take anything too seriously".
I get thru there once a year---I'll check it out next summer!
