some people here have asked me to let them know when the next monster garage show I've done will be on so here's the info. Monday Oct.27th 9pm on the Discovery Channel. they brought back the team that failed on the first hearse and built a new one (they may rerun the first show before running the new one) of course my part comes on at the end, hopefully they'll show more that 28 seconds this time! hahaha
I also did another show that will run sometime in early Nov. Mike

I thought the last one that you did was cool. I just figured that Jessie would have you flame something instead of painting it to look like a bull. At least he doesn't limit you to only flames. Looking forward to seeing this new episode.

Donald, he did!
A few episodes back was one where they transformed a car into a custom job for a handicapped guy (got messed up driving too fast...but...)
At the end of the show Jesse gives the car to the guy, and when he's doing so he's sitting in his black truck painted with Mike's flames!!
Very cool job, Bro!!

Mike,
I've been hoping that they'd bring you back, a few more seconds would be great.
I was looking through some old issues of Airbrush Action and guess whos step by step I ran across, still awsome as ever. Keep up the good work.

I wrote myself a sticky-note and put it on the monitor. If I could figure out how to program my VCR to work with the satelite, or actually took the time to try, I'd program it now.

well on the next episode I do paint fire on the vehicle. I can't say what it is yet though. and if you watched the delorian hovercraft show you may have caught the FRAZETTA bike I did for jesse with the death dealer ( like the molly hatchet album cover, with permission from the artist) and fire on it. I'm headed back there on thursday to paint 2 more bikes for him with my fire also.
pretty cool!

Thanks for the heads up. My sons favorite show ... he got a kick out of me pointing out "hey, you met that guy, remember" ... he doesn't remember (too young, long ago) Obviously if you painted it they completed the challenge. I've noticed that they switched back to limited freebees, good, how hard is the challenge if everything you need is handed to you ... like the 40 grand worth of free stuff to make the chunk of crap rock climber.
Glad it's all working out for you and looking forward to seeing it.

Looks like it's going to be a winner! We've got it bookmarked, Mike! (I'll be over at family's house since I don't have dish anymore, but, the guys in the family love cars, a few mechanics and racers here. Deb

Bump. It's on at 10 on this coast. The one at 9 is the old hearse one.

Old hearse failure show here too in Canada eh.

What a letdown - the paint segment was virtually non-existant. They managed to mention the name Mike Lavallee, but no details about Mike or where he's from, and not one second of video about the process. You mean all the rest of America wasn't panting to see the custom paint aspects of that Monster? Clearly it's time for a new show "Monster Paint Shop" - Hosted by Mike Lavallee naturally. Nice job anyway Mike, even if nobody got to know you better.

I agree. I stayed up till 1 am to see it, and Mike got about a 5 second plug. I guess as far as advertising, that 5 seconds is worth its weight in gold, but I know in past shows, they've shown the guy actually painting the vehicles, and a little about how he did it. Tell them you want more airtime Mike! We'd love to see it! Good looking schtuff by the way, as always.

well, what can I say? I did the work, they loved it, I'm at a total loss for words why they film me all day and only show a few seconds of the stuff while tom pruett from damons gets that much time showing him pouring the paint! it makes no sense to me. hell they showed the freaks walking across the desert longer that they showed the paint. well I'm hoping that next mondays show will show more of the paint. I did my realistic fire on this one. from what I heard people went nuts over the paint at the challenge. it'll be on at 9:00 next monday. maybe a few emails to the show will show them that we'd like to see more of the finishing of the monsters wheter its me or the other painters. thanks for the support! Mike

"Flash LaVallee" has to be Mike's new nic; man, that boy's faster than Glen, heh-heh. Mike, loved the "faux" wore-out paint background look, cool idea. What were you using for thinner, JP fuel? All kidding aside, looked good. I'm in agreement about Discovery's editing, they should discover that some out here are interested and loyal and should count. Now get back to work.........magoo

HECK! The put more attention on torching those burritos then on that fabulous paint job!!!!!!
I'm sure you are the most dissapointed, Mike.
I think I heard them mention your name and 'of Killer Paints in Snohomish, WA'(I thot you were in Everett) It was almost like an afterthought,
Sorry about that....I'll write them too if it will help at all.

I agree, let's send them some e-mails, anybody got the address?
It amazes me the things they WILL show though, like people without a clue trying to get the firing order and timing right to where something will run . By the way, did anybody notice the glowing headers on the hearse??? A sure sign of an engine so lean it's gonna melt a piston or some really retarded timing
Parts changers

Hey George,
I saw thoses headers looking they were going to melt down!
Ha! Some mechanics eh? Someone should have called that one moron always on his cel phone and told him "18436572..."
Ha!

I'm going to have a post to cover the following but this applies to the previous comments....
QUESTION: If you had 10 seconds on TV to mention the sign industry what would you say?
I'm excited to have just been awarded a sign project for an upcoming business makeover that will air on the Discovery station, Travel station and Twin Cities local news.
The production crew will be doing a small segment on the signage for this project. We'll get to talk about the project and signage in general. I'm excited more for the opportunity to have the sign industry represented (though only slightly) on Prime time National TV.
I'll post this seperately but I'd really like feedback as to what you'd say. I sort of feel that it's a great opportunity and responsibility to do JUSTICE to the sign biz.
Hoping for encouraging advice.
ROCK ON MIKE!

The Discovery channel site has pics and Mike is given credit for the paint on there. Here's the link. Discover Channer/Monster Garage Posted by DONALD THOMPSON (Member # 3726) on :
I was watching last night while I wrote out some checks for overdue bills when I heard Mike's name. When I looked up there was nothing to see. Later as it pulled in the cemetery I noticed that the paint job was nice though. I also noticed the headers Goerge.
Mike, At least you are getting to do more off camera work for Jessie. He can spread your name around, but nothing like air time to a nation wide audience though. Maybe they will show more on the next one. Keep up the fantastic work.
