Shortly after 7 this morning, I had the dog standing over my head barking in my face. The dozer had just been fired up when I looked out the kitchen window. I stoof there and watched as it took the first swatch out of my yard. Grabbed the camera and went outside. -
The main goal for the day was to get as much of the dirt work done as possible before the rain hit and turned the whole area into a hugh mudpit and our driveway into a mudslide. The guys finished up about 4. Grabbed the camera again and headed outside. - By 5, we couldn't see the pit from the kitchen window for the rain. Talk about good timing. The contractor was impressed that they got as much done. I think they were figuring on hitting serious rock when they started digging. Instead they just got plenty of dirt and this one hugh rock, triangular shape, about 10" thick and 3 to 4 feet on the longest side. I see that getting put somewhere & painted. [Smile]
The highwall at the back corner is over 6' high, so they moved some serious dirt today. If the weather cooperates, the footers will be poured tomorrow and block will be laid later in the week.
