Addrienne's post on confidence got me to thinking, about starting a positive post only, You have to post something positive that happened to you recently, it can be either business related or not, but it has to be "Positive". No negativity allowed. and no Sarcasm. Sounds too Stupid? I wonder if it will work....
Here's the first one, Business here has been great, September was one if not the best month I've had since I started this shop almost five years ago. We just hired a girl this morning to help judy out with paper work and Customers, so she's happy. We are going to Jamaica next month, for our first hoilday in a year and a half, so that's great News.

What an incredible change there has been in my work life since I hit the streets of Letterville. I no longer feel marooned on an island of creativity. The support and guidance by my peers (hey I can say that without cringing now) here have made my confidence soar and with it the courage to constantly step up towards my goals. I have found new friends, mentors, idols and students on this board. I see a big change in my work, some of which was just a matter of fine tuning and some of which was glaring mistakes. I see my goals being reached and reset on a constant basis. I have met new friends and attended my first, but definitely not last meet. Go Letterville - You are a work (and life )changing experience!

October has been pretty quiet, businesswize, and that is a GOOD thing. It allowed me the time to paint and recarpet three rooms in our house and re-furnish the living room!
Now it's time to get back to work and pay off the credit card!

This past October 1st was two anniversaries for me:
It's my 4th year of living in Lake Havasu City, AZ and it's also my 4th year of being self employed full time!
The past two weeks I've been running like crazy, making new friends and meeting old ones with the World Finals jetski races in town (they just finished up last night). I also got to meet many of my past customers and made a lot of new ones.
**Edit**
Oh yeah, my sister in Tucson, AZ is getting married THIS Halloween! It's the anniversary of their first date. Hmmm... if I could talk them into dressing up as Frankenstein and the Bride of Frankenstein for the ceremony, this could be a fun wedding!

Nice post... It is sunny here too and the air is fresh with the smell of fallen leaves, they crackle underfoot. Just booked a room in a haunted B & B in Gettysburg today...my cousin Maggie and I are going to go out there next month to giggle & gossip and be pleasantly scared all night. We were lucky to get it, and it was cheaper than I expected it to be. I have signs a-waitin, a few painted ones, which always makes me smile. Lots of love...JILL

All the bosses and mall maintenance guys were off with it being a long weekend and all. We just put our heads down and boogied! We got lots done!
Tomorrow the brass will hopefully be impressed with our progress and light some fires under their guys to stay ahead of us.
I'm having a blast with creative licence to do whatever I want and the pieces are gonna be very cool!
It's still early in the game but I think we are ahead of schedule!

I went to a memorial service for one of our deceased Brothers today. His family was so thrilled that a bunch of men could come out during the day to show their respects for a member most of us had never even met! Was very gratifying.
Went to the Grand Lecturer's Convention for the First Erie District tonight. I sat in the East and did the Master's part for the First Section. The Grand Lecturer said I did an outstanding job. Any one who knows what this means will appreciate it. Right, Boone and Carolina Fred?
Hiram says Goodnight!

15 years ago, I did my first hand painted MDO sign for a local realtor. It's held up well all these years, but has finally started to show it's age. I met with the realtor Thursday and, although he first asked about what could be done to touch it up, I told him that I would rather replace it for just a little bit more. He said he was always happy with it, but was open to some suggetions of how to improve the new one. By the time I took the deposit check, it was for a 4X8' dimension sign, my first. I guess what comes around goes around. He got my first MDO sign, now he's getting my first HDU carved sign. Six months ago, there was simply no way I could have gotten this job and taken the step into dimensional signage.
Thanks, Letterheads. There's been a lot of moments like this one since finding this website and attending meets. I finally feel a confidence in my work I've never had before and have met some truly talented and wonderful folks, many who have become friends.

Finished my panel with time to spare.
My inlaws came over for Turkey dinner on Sunday. Wind was blowing hard, and rain was coming down sideways. Power went out around 2 pm. Turley was already in the oven. Improvised and got the turkey on the BBQ, boiled the spuds on the sideburner. Power came on 5 minutes before 6 pm, dinner was already done. Turkey turned out great, might do it again next year.

Keeping busy here with signwork and home improvement endeavours. Lotsa hard work, but the rewards have been good.
I landed two really good sign jobs this week. One I proposed earlier this year that they held off on doing because of money. You never know if it'll ever come to light when that happens. They contacted me this morning with excitement about getting started on it now. yahoo!
The other job I landed was for an entire sign system that, they too, are excited about doing. It's a real bonus for me when my customers get enthuised about their sign projects. That motivates me.
The weather here is turning cooler this week. In the seventies. It's perfect! After all the yardwork I've been doing lately, it's nice to have the good weather to really enjoy it now.
Oh yeah, I bought a new yard toy. A weedwacker with an interchangable edger attachment. Dave gave me edging lessons last night. hahahaaa.... watch out lawn, here I come! vrooom-vrooom!
Ah, it's the simple stuff that makes life good. Nettie

Shot myself with a large nailgun yesterday...Hit the bone in such a way that I was able to hit a note that I have never been able to accomplish. My wife Diane, an RN, was able to help me close off the arterial fountain with a pressure bandage just short of having to get a transfusion. I was looking forward to one of those, but I guess you just can't have all your fun in one day. Also I was able to spend some quality time with my wife...I'll be ok, and thats the real positive note!
