I am wanting to build a website for my kid's Soccer and Hockey teams. I have MS Front page 2000, Fireworks 4, and Ulead Cool 3D.
I am not very proffecient with any of them. I know I need to be and hopefully this project will help. I really want to create some cool pages with some flash animation and such. I still remeber some basic programming, but very basic.
I have some idea's, especially for the animated intro, but I am a little lost in how to get started.
Is there anyone who would be able and willing to give me some pointers in the right direction???? Do I have the correct programs to do what I want as far as the flash????
Thanks in Advance!!!

Troy,
I'm no web guru, but most web designers use Macormedia programs for working with and viewing flash presentations.
Here's a link to thier website. There are some trial versions there you can download.
Hope this helps. Rapid

To create Flash animations you need Flash... I think the latest version is Flash MX. You can create Flash animations with other programs (after effects, etc), but if your really interested in Flash you would be better off just buying the actual program.
Everything else you list is pretty much all you need. Im not a big fan of Front Page, but is very capable. Also, if you use Fireworks and Flash, you could improve your work flow by going over to Dreamweaver (they are all made by Macromedia).
Good Luck with your site!

I found a pretty cool little flash type program that is a little easier to use than Flash, called Swish. You can download a trial version and it would probably serve your needs. I started with that program and then went to Flash. I would recomend Dreamweaver, because you have Fireworks, they work seamlessly.

I bought Swish after downloading the trial version. Its fun and easy to use...although I have nevef got around to updating my ancient site!

If you plan on doing web sites just for "fun" or once in a while then you already have what you need if you get Swish for making Flash files. Swish is a very cool little program and FrontPage is certainly capable of creating terrific web pages.
If you want to really get into web design I suggest the Macromedia MX Suite which includes Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Flash. The new 2004 versions just came out. Very expensive but many web pros consider them the best programs available.
