Anyone have any good or bad experiences with the Roland PNC 1850 48" cutter, looking to buy a used one.

Good machines in thier time, and they last along while. Parts may no longer be available, so you should check with roland at www.rolanddga.com, that way if you have a problem, you'ld know if it could be repaired. Should be worth $1250.00 us, if its as new $1850.00

Thats the one I have. 48" is one of the best things. I usually get 30" material. The only bad thing about the large format is that it is kinda slow; but the 48" span totally makes up for it.
I use this plotter exclusively for paper patterns. -Rich
