Hey all. I will be going under at 3:30 this afternoon. I could use some positive vibes if you know what I mean. I have had Kidney stones for five weeks. I had an emergency surgery Monday night to relieve some pain and will have the final surgery today to remove the stone wall in my Ureter tube. I'm not thrilled about this and could use some positve thoughts.
Thanks!
Rob "Stone Wall" Larkham

Oh yeah, this is my second time getting these things.....This sucks!

Been there, done that! I can truely say that I know what you are going through. My thoughts and prayers will be there.

The positive part is how good you are going to feel when it's all over. And then you will have all those "war stories" to tell everyone. All of us who have had the experience know about the pain, those who haven't can't imagine it.

Two for me too - thirty five years apart.

Good luck. And drink lots of water. I suppose you have already heard that.

Hey Rob,

I'll be sending all the positive vibes your way I can muster today.

I never had those, and dont want to!

All the best to you, Rob. This going to be a same-day surgery? By that I mean are they expecting to send you home right afterwards? If that is what they are planning, then it should not be a major deal. Called a basket extraction.

They get you sedated, pass a small instrument that looks like a small version of a mechanics pick up tool, snag the stone and remove. There is also some sort of ultrasound method where they aim a beam of sound at the stone, and it pulverizes. Either way, you should be home by evening.

Good luck, and will be thinking of ya.

Hey Robert,

Have you seen the new series 'Dead like Me', it's not so bad.... [Wink]

Just kidding... best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Don't know about "positive vibes" but I'll give you something better...a good ol' fashioned prayer on your behalf.

May the doctors put the skills and talents God endowed them with towards a successful operation.

Be confident...that stone is history! [Smile]

Let me be one of the first women to respond. I obviously don't know what you are going through, but I am sending our best wishes and hope you have speedy recovery. My experience has been that the anticipation of the operation can sometimes be more upsetting that the recovery. (three ceasareans) [Eek!]
Hang in there and good luck!

Hi Rob. Surgery isn't really a big deal these days, and there's really nothing to get tense or aprehensive about. It's probably no more serious than say, mental illness, and we all have a touch of that...some to a greater or lesser degree than others [Wink]
Seriously though, All the best and I trust trhat the end result will leave you feeling much better.
