It's FINALLY time to move into the new shop. I folded up the large tarps we had used as we painted the walls and ceilings and gave the shop a good sweep after my crew went home this evening. It was enjoyable and rewarding.

I've given it a lot of thought as we built the new shop these last few months but tonight I carefully thought things through one last time and rolled the few large pieces of equipment in the shop (its all on wheels) to their final locations to check it all out. I think its going to work out just fine.

To round out the evening I packed in 30 sheets of plywood and set them in their storage place. (I left another 30 sheets for the crew tomorrow.) Our large steel order arrives tomorrow as well, to stock up the racks.

Tomorrow we'll begin moving tools in earnest, as the large storage unit we've rented has to be cleaned out by the end of the month. The large shelving units go up tomorrow. At long last everything will have a proper place! I can hardly wait!

There's still much to do. The electricity won't be hooked up for another two weeks or so. The 300 foot extension cords and temporary lighting will have to do in the meantime.

My studio is almost ready for the serious theme work, which means that it will sit as is until we return from our job in Edmonton in two months. I hope to move in by Christmas. The outside of the shop won't see it's final finishes and detailing until spring. But the tractor finished up the backfill and grading of the entire site today.

And as of tomorrow, we officially move into the shop at last. It's going to be COOL!!

Congratulations Dan! Have a great time in Edmonton. Bet those cords are a pain (in principle, so close but not quite yet.)

Well Dan I hope you find an omen in your move...

Ours was moving into the new digs...everything perfect just as you described the tarps were all laid back the floor swept and the pristeen beauty of a new shop was interupted by a punctured can of white paint being unloaded from the trailer and drizzling paint up the drive way right into the shop and onto the new floor...I left it there...it seemed appropriate somehow.

I'll show it to ya when you come by here someday! [Smile]

Have a good time moving...it's meant to be that way! [Wink]
