I bought some liquid Frog Juice but haven't used it yet.

I have to do a painted banner with red letters, which will sit on an angled roof, so it will have more direct sun contact. I was thinking of putting Frog Juice on the banner to protect the red from breaking down over time.

Should I just paint over the letters with the Frog Juice, or should I coat over the entire banner with the Juice? I will be using bright red One Shot on an enamel receptive banner.

thanks...

No frog juice over enamel. Its a banner. . . .red paint only. It's not suppose to last forever. Have fun

Peter,

You should leave that frog juice where it does its job best...in the can!

If you want the banner to last longer double coat your letters.

I'm with John on this one!!.... a "banner" is purchased and intended to be a TEMPORARY sign !!!
Now, when/IF they purchase a permanant sign, THEN you can clearcoat the enamels for longivity. I prefer POR-15's product called PELUCID. check it out at POR-15

But, on the other hand,,,, we have a restaurant here near the interstate and can't have nother sign. Their banner faces the off-ramp to the interstate and they do expect to have it up for YEARS. So, in this case, yes, the reds and blues must be clearcoated. And, I still suggest the POR-15 products. And, yes, the Frog Juice will work for your intended purpose. Just clear over your letters and repaint in 2-4 years. OR sell them a whole new banner with a whole new look !!!!

I think there is a warning on the can that says do not use on non-enamel receptive banners. Not sure about the others.

But I do agree with the others, it's meant to be temporary!!

Hiya Peter,
This sounds like a job for screen printing inks. No clearing afterwards and it will last a long time as long as it's installed right.
If I remember correctly, another letterhead had a banner in front of his shop for quite a long time using this method.
Another, probably more expensive, option is to consider flex-face materials. It will probably last as long if not longer than the banner option.

Havin' fun,

Checkers
