20 odd years ago a friend gave me lift to a rally some 5 hours from home
this bloke is a big boy... 6'6" and 3 pick handles across
i did my usual on the back of a bike and promptly fell asleep 5 min's up the road

i woke up at one of the fuel stops... cause the bike stoped
it was then that i noticed all the girls, and a few of the blokes were brushing stuff out of their hair and cloths, spiting on the ground and generally behaving pretty strange

I asked one of the girls what the problem was?
she said 'that bug storm we just rode thru of course'
well I hadn't seen the bug storm, nor did I have any critters in my hair so I asked the bloke who had given me the lift...'did we just go thru some bugs?'

he thought it was a great joke and walked me to the front of the bike to show me how many of the little critters we had worn on the way thru

the screen was black,
the front end plastered
and his glasses were an inch thick with dead bodies

i got back on the bike and curled up for another nap thinking how nice it was having a human sheild for the trip

cheers
gail
