I have one small 3" x 3" circle to make a fade from orange to yellow. I have yellow vinyl and was going to paint on the orange. Krylon Fusion doesn't come in orange, will regular Krylon work? 1-shot will take forever to dry and I can't find anyone around here to make a digital print or who has screen ink to use with an airbrush.
How about the spray can of Testors model paints. Will they adhere? Will it take forever to dry?
Any other ideas? Thanks!

I found some Red & Yellow Dr. Martin's that I can mix together. It says it adheres to vinyl lettering. We'll see.
Think I may be all set. Thanks.

regular krylon will work fine... btw I think it's called the Norwegian Airbrush method...
if it's going outside just shoot your "airbrush" then roll some frog juice or even shoot some Krylon clear over it...

Testors is fine and comes in small cans.

Amy, to actually make a true fade the color should be transparent which is practically impossible to do with opaque colors, but an airbrush can give you the best effect, because it can be controlled.
Dave, its always been my understanding that its called the Mexican airbrush method, but here in Letterville with everything being so politically correct, its now called the letterhead method Posted by Amy Brown (Member # 1963) on :
Thanks everyone. We'll see what we get in a little while! Posted by Ted Nesbitt (Member # 3292) on :
I agree with Kathy---the Testor's model sprays work very well on vinyl.
I haven't tried FUSION yet, I'm sure it's fine, but the colours are limited.

Amy, try automotive rattlecan paint.. something from Wal Mart, AutoZone or other autoparts store. It bites into the vinyl very well!

Gotta say that I use Edge spray paint. Kind of pricey, especially when you factor in software, but even I can spray it on evenly!

Amy,
You could try the Testors thru an airbush, but with a little thinner to make it flow. I would suggest using red instead of orange since it will be somewhat transparent.
Good luck. Rapid

Hey guys! I'm all done. Used the Dr. Martin's that I forgot I had in the cabinet and it worked like a charm. I even did half-way decent with the airbrush fade.
