A similar device has been used at the Lafayette IceGators hockey games for several years. AllStart Signs of Lafayette had something to do with the use of it for push T-shirts out to the crowd.

Here in Delaware they have an annual event called "Punkin' Chuckin'" it features huge air cannons that shoot about an 8 pound pumpkin over 2000 feet. I think if you do a Google search you can find some pictures.
