I haven't spent a lot of time on the computer since my Mom fell on Aug. 30.
Mom was staying in a nursing home to recover from a previous surgery. She was doing a lot better, and should have been able to go back home before too long. About 2:00 that Saturday morning she got out of bed to go to the restroom, but she tripped and fell. This caused bleeding on her brain, and with her history of diabetes and parkinsons disease the doctors said there was no chance of recovery. We had her funeral on Sunday, and today is my first real day back in the office.
Mom always said that if you don't have friends, you don't have anything, but if you have good friends, you have everything. During this time I have realised I have more good friends than I knew, and I have realised just how important that is.
I would like to thank everyone that replied to Troy's post, sent e-mails, sent cards, and stopped by the funeral home. Having the support of so many good friends has made this a lot easier to deal with.

We are glad you are back!!!!!
We are also the lucky ones as to have a friend such as you(and Dora). Your parents, as you said at the funeral home, are together once agian, and together they can be proud of you. A fine person and friend.

Don, I also have to say that this is one bunch of caring people in this group. I am glad to hear we could help. I hope you have lots of fond memories of your mom to help you thru this as well. Glad you are back.
