Interesting concept - a specialist to help you sort out and deal with the yellow pages bullscht. I have my own viewpoint on the whole mess.

LOL!! I agree.
My point is that there is enough information on the site that you can better decide what is best for you without paying them a dime.
It also explained to me why some shops can afford to run adds all over the state without paying some huge gigantic bill.
Our local Yellowpage rep came by a few weeks ago and confused the heck out of me. I just wish I had seen this site first to help explain some of what I was being told about these "specials".
I finally purchased the cheapest thing they had just out of frustration.

BTW, I dropped my $400 per month bill down to $80. I just finished a job that came directly from the ad. It payed my entire years bill. I guess I got lucky.

My yellow page ads got real messed up this year. I advertise in two different directories-one local and one for the northern suburbs of Detroit. The northern one had my 1/8 page ad that got all messed up (my rep put in that I do illuminated banners) but did have the column listings. I fought it and got half off each month ($55.00 instead of $110.00). The local pages put in the same 1/8 page (with all the same errors) but didn't put me in the columns listings. So I get that one free all year. I don't know if its good or not.

ive had al sizes and shapes, colors and white, tried a bunch of them.
Now all i have is 1/2 inch comum add and still gettin glots of calls. However, instead of paying 200 / month for a book that just sits there. I pay for inserts in a local mailer.
No matter what the YP ad reps say, no one sits at the kitchen table with a donut, coffee, and the yellow pages in the morning..

last year i decided to put additional listings...you know not just under signs....so i wanted TRUCK LETTERING and BOAT LETTERING.... oh well each is an additional $10 a month so i figured i could afford 240 a year. well ive never had any thing good to say about the yellow pages from the 1st 2 years i was in business....they didnt mess em up but where my add shoulda been..they put one of their own, and the next year they stuck my add on the lower-right inside corner where noone would see it. i figued with the addional listing they cant screw that up. oh well....insteaD of putting me under BOAT LETTERING they put me under BOAT REPAIR!!!!!!!!! but they didnt have a heading for BOAT LETTERING so i paid for that one. the other one they put me under TRUCK AUTOBODY REPAIR....i refused to pay for it as they do have a truck lettering heading. now i get JUNK MAIL ALL THE TIME from boat motor rebuilders and TRUCK AUTO BODY materials suppliers!!!!!!!!!!!! thank you yellow pages....

I finally dumped my YP ads!!!! They cost me more than I ever earned off them!
All I got was the "Tire Kickers" since my ad was near the top.
LOL! Been busier without the ads, than went I had them... PLUS ...I don't spend time with the "How much for a sign" people!
