Hey All!

There are just a few days left until the end of the deadline for signing up for the “On The Streets of Letterville Panel Swap. We have over 40 people signed up so far. We couldn’t be more pleased so far. We can’t wait to see what everyone is going to dream up for their projects. After coming home from Quebec, we are both extremely excited to get going on our projects!

We have included a recap of the “rules” for the swap. We went through and clarified some areas to make things a bit easier to understand. We really are sorry that you will not find out the recipient of your panel until you are finished. We understand people wanting to be able to “personalize” their projects but we hope that you all understand our position. We want to make sure that everyone who completed his or her project would actually receive one in return.

Rules for “On The Streets of Letterville” Panel Swap

All entries must be sent via e-mail to letterville_panel_swap@hotmail.com. All entries are to be received by September 1, 2003. Any submissions after that date will be accepted, if any businesses are remaining, but late entrants will have to abide by the original dates. No extensions or extra time will be granted on these submissions.

No one who participated in the previous panel swap and failed to deliver a panel will be eligible for this swap. That is the general consensus of the people we have talked to and I see no reason to disagree with them.

Entrants will be assigned one of their choices. All choices will be honored on a first come first served basis. This will allow for the greatest number of business types to be utilized without having repeats.

If we forgot one type of business that is prevalent in your area or we just outright forgot to think of, let us know and we will make room on the Streets of Letterville for your new business. There will, however, be no Sign Shops or Pinstriping Shops featured in the “On The Streets of Letterville” Panel Swap. This one place where the owners really could do their own signs…

You will choose the name for your business. It can be funny, serious, tongue-in-cheek, etc. You choose the design, colors, taglines, and every other aspect of the project.

All panels are open to any type of sign, prop, medium, etc. It doesn’t matter if you use paint, vinyl, digital printing, carving, blasting, wood, HDU, metal, plastic, etc. You are governed only by your imagination, budget, time, etc.

All entries MUST be completed by October 15th, 2003. This will give you approximately six weeks to complete your project. When you are complete with your project, take several photos of your project. Save them as a 72 DPI jpeg file no wider the 600 pixels. Pictures will be e-mailed to an address to be set up by Barb and Steve. They will then be posted for all to oohed and ahhed over, flaunted, shown off, boasted of, and generally held to praise shortly after the due date on the BullBoard.

When proof of your project completion is received, you will be sent the name and address of your recipient and someone will receive your information. Please remember that we have some international Letterheads participating in this swap and some extra time will be required in the shipping of their projects.

Anyone not completing their project in a timely fashion will have their names displayed for all the world to see to be cajoled, have dispersions cast upon, hunted down, their characters questioned, ridiculed, ball busted, flamed, roasted, made fun of, and generally looked down upon. You have been warned. [Wink]

Yes, I had to edit out the same dang misstake! Oops! [Smile]

This double negative "No one....will be ineligible..." opens the gates to everyone!

I'd like to participate, but not this time Bruce- great idea though.
Best wishes

Looking over the list, I notice that "Realtor" has not been taken. Is that because we have all had our fill of that profession. I would remove that one from the list!

But, I'm surprised the AdultXXX hasn't gone quickly!

Years ago we had a sign painter in town that painted this on the door of an ADULT magazine store (videos were not invented yet):

"If any part of the human body offends you do not enter this store!"

But, the lettering was done in the shape of a naked girl standing ( side view)...so that there was just lettering in the shape of a naked girl...very neat....right down to the, uh, well, you know!

I'm thinking back in those days he would have projected a picture of a naked girl on a sign board, then cleverly laid out the lettering to fit the outline so that the shape was mostly filled with letters, atanomically correct in the breast area...

Also this is another shameless bump up! [Smile]
