If I read the message right that I got from my server this morning, someone is sending a file around that sounds like a patch but containes a virus. I have not used Outlook Express on this computer here for probably over a week , This is what was in the mail I received:
quote: *********************** SaskTel has detected the virus (PE_DUMARU.A) in the file (patch.exe) and has taken action to remove the file. ***********-*********** Dear friend , use this Internet Explorer patch now! There are dangerous virus in the Internet now! More than 500.000 already infected!
If you receive a message like the one above, I did not send it out.

Lotti..The only patches you should use are ones that you download from reputable websites such as Symantic(Norton) or McAffee.
Running an EXE file that someone (or a worm) sent you via e-mail is downright silly.

Dave, I never used this file nor did I ever have it on my comuter. What I have posted is a copy of the message I got returned to me, even though I never sent it out in the first place. What I am trying to say here is that someone sends out a message that reads: " Dear friends,......use this patch" and when you open the attachement you get a virus instead. I think, or hope, I have enough brains not to fall for something like that

Thank you for the heads up lotti..
And i don't think you would fall for that. In fact, I see your post as an offer of help.

Lotti..I figured you would know better. Sorry if you read my reply incorrectly. But some folks MIGHT run an EXE file like that.
