I apologize if any letterheads have been receiving the sobig worm from my computer.I keep getting messages from Mail Deamon of email failure on email I never sent. My virus protection program has found this worm and isolated & deleted it several times when it was emailed to me. I run a daily virus scan and no virus has been found so I am puzzled..any suggestions? I heard on chat last night that this sobig worm will expire sometime in September. Judy

Judy, It may be a spoofed email address from another infected user.
if we all get the facts we can all help in finding out who is really infected.

Richard Bustemonte posted a link to PANDA on Linda silver eagles post and I used it to scan a REPAIR damaged files, no download quick and easy. It worked miracles on my puter.

I just got zapped again with 15 more e-mails.
This is going to continue unless *all* of us get cleaned up.
Clean up your machines!

I had 96 the other day, 36 this morning and 20 so far this afternoon.
Richard, it is my understanding that cleaning our machines doesn't help. this worm digs it's way into address books then duplicates itself on every computer that accepts e-mail.
We all need to be careful opening mail.

Is it so hard to print out all of your email addresses of other people, then delete them on Outlook Express. I used PANDA 2 days ago and haven't had a problem since. PANDA not just scans your computer but actually fixes the problems too. It cleaned out the BUGBEAR and TROJANS from the computer and repaied the files, found 6 of them

Do not think that because these infected emails with "spoofed" sender addresses from letterheads are still arriving, that this means some letterheads are still infected.
Once a virus harvests an address that is part of the baggage that is moving with it on it's record-setting pace of spreading itself. We could all cancel our email addy's & the spoofed "sender" address would still imply that these emails came from our letterville buddies.
They didn't! So if we rattle the cage here among ourselves thinking someone is flaking out on their security & causing grief to the rest of us, we are giving the author of this virus just the satisfaction they were after when the monster was created
once some letterhead addy's got harvested, either off someones address book (I agree with Joey, it's not worth keeping an electronic contact list anymore)or possibly even off a letterville membership database ( just guessing here)then whats done is done, & a lot of us are just gonna have to get used to this for a while (or change our addresses).
