We're singing and dancing here on the brand new concrete shop floor. Yesterday was a long one starting at 6am in the rain. I made a brave call to proceed anyhow with a 40 yard pour. The rain stopped as the pumper truck pulled in at 6:30 and it stayed cloudy & cool until we finished troweling the concrete.
The finishers put a fine polish on the floor and I immediately put on a couple coats of sealer to help it cure slowly.
Today we put in the cut lines and proceeded to start dancing. It turned out GREAT!
The walls are getting higher as we stack up the foam blocks and put in the rebar. I really like the system and it should be a fine building. We pour the walls midweek, with the trusses following the week after. Once the roof is on the dancing starts for real!
I'll post some pics on the weekend as tomorrow I take a breather & attend the world's second largest airshow in Abbotsford (Donna's town).

Enjoying following the progress Dan, thanks for keeping us up to date. Looking forward to the pics. Have a great time at the air show, (a great way to let your mind slip off to a different plane!)

Foam blocks??? Rebar???Pour??? Please explain this process when you take a breather from the two step.
An airshow sounds cool! We live in a place where folks still come out to look if we hear a plane going by. Last week we were swimming in this bend in the river and heard this noise and soon a huge blimp came right over us. It was awesome to view this travelling low over the tops of the redwood forrest.

It really feels good when the construction is actually under way doesn't it.
Hope you have good "subs" all the way thru...but hang on to yer shorts it's always the guy you would suspect the least that lets you down.
Here's hoping you have none of that...positive all the way.
And be careful...all that dancin'...ya don't want to turn an ankle now.

Dan, a good friend here in Texas just finished a house using the same foam/concrete combination and it turned out great. I've seen the process on "This Old House" but never had know anyone who actually used it until just this year.
